The town of Pembroke, Ga was founded in 1892 as a railroad town and turpentine shipping center and was incorporated in 1905. Pembroke was named after Pembroke Whitfield Williams, one of the first residents of this town. The famous jazz musician Jabb Smith was born in this town.Today you can still find a railroad community in the Historic District of this town where the Georgia Central tracks are still active. The commercials district of Pembroke consists of building from the early 20th century.
