About Statesboro, GA
Statesboro is situated on the southeastern part of the state of Georgia in the USA. The city is the largest city and county seat of Bulloch County and is home to over 31 419 people.
What started off as a small trading town in 1803 is now a historic college town with its major attraction being the Georgia Southern University. This University developed from the First District A&M School which Statesboro bid for and won in 1906. Here you will come across museums, performing arts centers, a university golf course, and planetarium. Sports fanatics will enjoy cheering on the Eagles at the Paulson Stadium.
The town has a warm Southern charm with a quaint downtown that offers shopping, dining, and nightlife. The Georgia Southern Botanic Garden is also situated in Statesboro where one can enjoy nature on one of the many woodland trials or visit the Rural Life Museum and the Arboretum.
For some family fun, The Clubhouse will provide you with outdoor and indoor entertainment from batting cages, a golf range, laser tag, playgrounds and much more. If you need some cooling from the summer heat, you can always visit Splash in The Boro which is the most popular water park in the region.
This town has inspired the singer-songwriter Blind Willie McTell to write the song “Statesboro Blues” in 1920. Statesboro, GA is also one of nine cities in Georgia which is under the “live, work, play” category, as selected by the Georgia Municipal Association.
