    Coligny Beach Park

    Among the numerous beautiful beaches on the island, the Coligny beach is one of the most popular ones, as well as the largest one in Hilton Head.     Harbour Town Lighthouse

It is located just half a mile from Hilton Head Island and is a very popular destination. It is 4,053 acres big and consists of forestland, brush land, freshwater ponds, and salt marsh. There are more than 250 species of birds there, as well as alligators, bobcats, white-tailed deer, and red foxes.

    There are 14 miles of trails where you can bike or hike and explore the nature, or you can go fishing and hunting. If you go up to the White Point or Dick Point, you can also see some of the most beautiful views and vistas of the area.

    Coastal Discovery Museum

    The Coastal Discovery Museum is the perfect place to learn more about the history of not only Hilton Head Island, but of the entire Lowcountry region of South Carolina. It is located in the Honey Horn campus and offers a unique insight into both the cultural heritage and the natural history of the region.

    The museum offers numerous different activities and programs, as well as courses and exciting excursions, and also organizes different festivals throughout the year. Here you can see the wild Marsh Tacky horses, different types of butterflies, ancient live oaks, amazing colorful gardens, and learn all about the crabs, dolphins, turtles, and crocodiles of the area.

    Sea Pines Forest Preserve

    The Sea Pine Forest Preserve is a place discovered by a nomadic Native American people, about four thousand years ago. Here you can find the remains of their village, as well as of the ceremonial plaza, which is today called the Indian Shell Ring. The Preserve consists of beautiful and mysterious lakes, forests, walkways, canals, and swamps, as well as wonderful meadows full of colorful native flowers.

    You can go exploring this area on a boat, on foot, on bike, or even on a wagon or horseback and enjoy the calming and peaceful nature along the many paths and boardwalks, or go up to the observation towers and enjoy some beautiful vistas. This forest preserve is spread across 605 acres of land and has been a public park and a wildlife sanctuary since 1959.

    Arts Center of Coastal Carolina

    Hilton Head is a town with a thriving cultural community that put great emphasis on all types of artistic expressions. Among the many cultural institutions, the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina stands out as a grand 349-seat theatre where the islanders and the tourists can witness some of the best and various productions of both visual and performing arts.

    Apart from the many visual art exhibitions, dramas, and musicals produced every year, the Center organizes many exciting festivals and offers amazing educational programs for the youth in the form of workshops, lectures, and various field trips.

    Daufuskie Island

    This tiny little island is located right next to Hilton Head Island and has only 250 residents. But despite its size and small population, the island is a great attraction and an amazing destination to visit due to its many amenities. It’s a very luxurious island with two resorts, many golf courses, high-end restaurants and shops, and art galleries. Apart from that, it has been listed as a historic district due to its significance in the Civil War and the Gullah culture. The only way to get to the island is by a boat or a ferry as there are no bridges connecting it to the mainland.
